He left One Direction only last month but it seems Zayn Malik is already planning a career as a movie star. The talented 22-year-old has been in talks with Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha to plan his next move.

Film bigwig Gurinder, 55, who is working on Bend It Like Beckham: The Musical, tells 3am discussions with Zayn have already begun.

She says: “We’ve met and spoken. He trained as an actor first then became part of the band.

“So I think what he’ll be doing is staying true to his heart – and that’s all you can ever do.”

Speaking at the Asian Awards on Friday – that were also attended by Zayn, his sexy new shaved head and BFF Naughty Boy – Gurinder adds: “I don’t have a part in mind for Zayn just yet but hopefully in the future.”
